I am getting a 12 week old shih tzu and I want to use a wire crate for training. Is it necessary to buy a plastic travel crate for the car as well?

if you have a big enough car, you can use the wire crate in the car as well as for training, it may even make the pup more comfy in the car if it is used to being inside the crate.

I had both cos we have a small car, but they are both good products to buy!

No. you can use the wire one if you want to in the car, or no crate at all. Maybe get a carseat, or some kind of seatbelt so she doesn’t fly around. lol, but the plastic crate is not a must.

Just use the plastic crate.. the wire crates are useless.. Most dogs can get out of them.. if they can’t, they get stuck trying to get out or they can get their mouth caught easily.

Yeah Its a good idea to have both Im sure you heard of the always have an evacuation plan and supply list. Yes well that includes your newest member of the family. Its important to have him prepared if there were any reasons to evacuate your house or town. Always have emergency supplies for you and your pets. Cause you cant go back as quickly if you forgot something or needed something for your pet. So just make sure you have a checklist and stock up if you havent already. Congrats on your new pup!

I have both, the wire crate is strictly for home and then I have the carrier/carseats from http://www.petflys.com, their wire crates are kinda like their chill pad/condo at home lol.
